“A-ha” Wednesday: Work out early. Earn badass points for the whole day.

Super-short post this morning due to a busy busy day. Best news: that busy day started with an early-morning bike ride at the gym. Now it’s 9 a.m. in Seattle as I write these words, my workout is done, and that’s one “to-do” on my list that can get crossed off before the day even really gets going. It was neat to be at the gym early today, too – there are a whole lot of other folks there at that hour, so even when you’re blissed out listening to your music or podcasts and you’re on your own cardio machine in the center of your own world, you can feel the energy of others right beside you, doing the same thing.

When we work out early, we feel really good all day long. This is actually my number-one favorite reason to work out early. Not because it burns more fat calories (if that’s really true) or whatever. Not because of anything that has to do with maintaining my weight loss. But because it is good for the head. Really good. As in, I get to spend the rest of this day feeling like a badass. And I like that.

Recent Every48 workouts: Yesterday, a REST day and just some light walking around town. Today, yep, that 60-minute BIKE ride at the gym. Done before 8:30. That rocks.
