Once in a while, Every48 breaks away from the usual schedule to bring you a special announcement. (Friday is normally Fitness Meme of the Week day around here.) And so it is today.
September 26 is Mesothelioma Awareness Day. It’s a rare form of cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. A few months ago, Heather Von St. James, a survivor of this form of cancer who is working to increase awareness of the disease, contacted me. She asked for the Every48 blog space for September 26, 2014 to be dedicated to raising awareness about this disease, the risks, and the potential solutions. (Stunningly, asbestos is not banned in the United States, even today.)
