Yesterday I mentioned that it’s hot outside. Really hot. As in, 90+ degrees and super-sunny during the day. It’s wreaking havoc on little things like, say, sleep. I’m staying in an older home where the air conditioning doesn’t always make it to the second floor, where the bedrooms are. So it’s been a bit hard for this Pacific Northwest softie to re-acclimate to the Mid-Atlantic/New England summertime these past couple of weeks. I woke up at 3 a.m., overheated. So this will be a quickie post today.
But last night – a triumph! I found a nifty 45-minute exercise video on YouTube that was none of these things: annoying, corny, too easy, or too hard. It was like Goldilocks’ porridge: just right. Thanks to Jillian Michaels for bringing it, and being real and relatable at the same time. That’s no mean feat in a world of wannabe TV trainer types. Jillian is still the gold standard. Love her. Great fun.
Now get out there – or if it’s boiling hot outside, stay in – and get your workout on.
Yesterday’s #Every48 workout: A bit of WALKING in the morning before the blazing sun came out, and 45 minutes of very cool CARDIO courtesy of a Jillian Michaels video (see link above) in the evening. No corny exercises, I promise. But lots of fun, moderate plyometrics (jumping exercises) – plus modifications if bouncing isn’t a good fit for you.
