You may have noticed the “Inspiration Found Here” menu link in the main menu of the Every48 blog. It’s right here. But you may not have clicked on it yet to see what’s hiding behind that particular door. Let me share a bit of its history with you.
I love film. Really, really love it. Great films, inspiring videos, super storytelling – these things stoke my fire and get me tremendously inspired. And of course, we live in a world of “bite-sized” online content (yes, that is really an industry phrase now), so quick, get-in-get-out videos are all the rage. (Especially those wacky cat videos. Seriously. Google “funny cat videos” and you will lose at least an hour of your life. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.)
Anyway, I digress. There are some real gems out there in Internet land that never cease to inspire me to take risks, try new things, and just generally get after it in life. The video compilation available on the “Inspiration Found Here” tab is just a smattering of my favorites – from Amy Cuddy’s moving and brilliant TED talk to the video of a young girl talking herself through her first 60-meter ski jump when she’s only ever jumped 20-meter hills. And who can resist watching two hearing-impaired 9-year-old twins meet their idol, Seahawks star (and now Super Bowl Champion) Derrick Coleman, the first hearing-impaired player to play on an NFL offense?
Pretty cool stuff. Check out these links if you’re looking to get your stoke on before your next workout.
Yesterday’s #Every48 workout: TRACK – a speed workout with my coach and teammates. About 5-1/2 miles of total distance, with a solid 2-1/2 miles of quality speedwork (in other words, the fast stuff you do in a track workout that really builds your strength). My butt is sore today, so it must have worked.
