This is the sign that was posted in the window of Marathon Sports on Boylston Street in Boston after last year’s bombing. The store was badly damaged, but what moved me most was that it became a triage location for wounded spectators. If you’re in the market for a pair of running shoes, give ’em a call. Pay the extra postage. Thank them for being an indispensable part of the Boston running community.
And while I’m at it…thank a police officer today. Just pick the first one you see, and thank them for all that they do. It’s great to see so many officers out in Boston this week. Monday is going to be a special, special day.
Yesterday: REST DAY. Did just a bit of walking but nothing strenuous. I have a 4-miler planned for today but I got a late start with work, so I may push it to tomorrow. The Boston Marathon taper continues.
